# Risk Relations (Related Risks)

How to relate risks to each other and view a risk's relationships. Requires the Risk Register module.

**Applies to:** Users who can edit the risk · **Module:** Register Risks

## What Related Risks Are For

Relating risks records that they are connected, for example because they share a cause or a control. Unlike a [risk flow](https://support.symbiant.co.uk/kb/risk-flows/), a relation has no direction of impact; it simply links the risks so you can move between them and see them together.

## Opening the Related Risks Tab

Open the risk from the Risk Registers dashboard. In the lower panel, select the **Related Risks** tab. **Related To** lists the risks you have linked from this risk. **Related From** lists risks that have linked to this one.

## Linking Related Risks

Select the link icon at the top right of the **Related To** grid.

A list of risks opens. Select each risk you want to relate; selected rows are highlighted in blue. Then select the blue tick at the top right.

The risks show in the **Related To** grid. Select **Save** at the top right, or the pencil to save and stay on the risk. The links are not kept until you save.

To remove a relation, select the three dots at the end of its row, remove it and save.

## Viewing the Relationships

Select the **Relationships** tab in the top right panel of the risk. It shows a connection graph of everything linked to the risk: related risks, controls and incidents. Hover over a point to see its name.
