How to enable users to use SAML logins within Symbiant

Accessing Users #

Navigate to Set Up from the bottom left corner,

Navigate to Users,

Select the desired User,

Enabling SAML on a User #

CRITICAL NOTE: This can not be undone, once a user is activated as a SAML account it can not be reverted back to purely manual (Password) login.

See the bottom of the page for steps to make a user account manual (password) login after they were SAML.

On the right side of the user options, select SAML? and then Save at the top right,

The user can now login via the SAML option instead of Email and Password

How to Undo a SAML Login #

(This is only applicable if you have a user who previously used SAML but now needs purely manual (password) login)

If a SAML account needs to revert back to manual (password) login you will need to create a new user account for the user and transfer the data of the user to the new account.

Important Note: If you need to use the same email address you can create a temporary account.

Creating a Temporary Account #

Step 1. Create a temporary account to transfer the SAML account data.

Step 2. Transfer the data from the SAML account to the new Temporary account (this transfers everything that belongs to the account and all the actions and edits)

Step 3. Delete the SAML account you no longer need. (Critical Note: Only do this after transferring the data to the temporary user)

Steps 4. Create the new user account

Step 5. Transfer the data from the Temporary user to the new user

Step 5. Remove the temporary account (Critical Note: Only do this after transferring the data to the new user)
