Dropdown Types #
In the System, there are two main dropdown types, a Single Selection and Multi Selection option,
They behave and visually look different,
Single Select #
A single select dropdown allows you to select one option from a list, each option can come with its own colour as well.
Multi Select #
A multi-select dropdown allows you to select multiple options from a list, you can also specify a maximum number of selections.
Difference between Options #
If two dropdowns are of the same type (Single or Multi Selections) then the different dropdown options are simply used for grouping,
An example of this is Type & Category, these are both Single Selections (Within the Risk Module),
They both behave and visually appear the same but can be used to group data together differently.
The grouping option is completely up to you, Type could be your main grouping with Category as a sub-grouping or vice versa.
They are functionally the same but are split, you can have completely different data options and colours.
If you don’t require both dropdowns you can hide or remove them from your views, a guide on that can be found at Editing a View
