How Document Statuses Work in Symbiant
Status Logic #
In the System, three status types are used in the Document Management Module,
These are:
- Draft
- Published
- Obsolete
There can only ever be one status that is marked as “Published” however the wording can be completely custom,
Whereas there can be as many “Draft” and “Obsolete” status types as you require.
These types are denoted by checkmarks on the Status Value.
Please Note: Obsolete Status values are denoted by having no checkmarks against a status option (I.e. Draft and Published isn’t ticked)
Accessing Document Statuses #
Navigate to the Document Management module, then Status underneath the Modules Name.
The Status Dashboard with the three default status values will be shown.
Adding a New Status #
Select the Plus icon from the top right,
Following the Logic information at the top of this guide,
In this example, we are going to add a Draft Status,
Enter the Name, Colour, Sort Order, and mark the Status as Open and Draft.
If you want to create another Obsolete Status, don’t mark the new status option as Draft. Instead, leave it unticked.
When finished, save at the top right.
